Featuring 13 beautiful images captured in the Rogue River Canyon.
The Wild and Scenic section of the Rogue River is like a magnet. People come from all parts of our planet to enjoy a few days of floating or fishing or hiking or exploring the Rogue River.
I lived in Gold Beach, Oregon, for 10 years between 1999 and 2008. During that time I had many opportunities to capture photographs of the Rogue River and the people who enjoy it. I photographed while hiking or boating or floating the Rogue. These images are published with love and respect for the Rogue River and the people who travel on or near it.
If you have not experienced the Rogue River I hope that these images give you a better understanding of what lies at the bottom of the beautiful Rogue River Canyon. Browse this preview:
2012 Fishing the Mouth of the Rogue River calendar:
13 images of the fishing activity at the mouth of the Rogue River.
August is a month of transition at the Mouth of the Rogue. Below the surface of the river magnificent Chinook Salmon begin their spawning journey up the Rogue. Above the surface fishermen gather, hoping to catch some of these spirited and prized fish.
I had the priviledge of living in Gold Beach, Oregon for 10 years between 1999-2008. While there I had the opportunity to capture many photographs. As I have browsed my image archives I realized that I had captured many images of the 'Fishing at the Mouth of the Rogue'. This calendar is my opportunity to share some of those images.
Some viewing these images will see themselves...you are part of history. Some viewing these images have never even seen the Mouth of the Rogue. This is how it happens. This is the intensity, the calm, and the beauty of fishing at the mouth of the Rogue River. For those of you who have fished the mouth of the Rogue I hope that these images help you to recall fond memories...perhapsthe flash of a fish, or the tug of a line, or a friendships forged, or the taste of fresh Chinook Salmon.
